With several hundred units sold in more than 50 countries over the last few years, the Ectane platform has become the new reference for electromagnetic non-destructive testing (NDT). Now, the best instrument just got even better.
The Ectane 2 – 100 % engineered by Eddyfi – comes with a brand new powerful CPU and new electronics. With over 20 years of experience in the development of NDT instruments, Florian Hardy, CTO of Eddyfi comments: “This new design builds on the strengths of the original Ectane while providing key features and improvements for both tubing and surface applications. The onboard motor drive for rotating probes and current source are definitely features that speak to tubing customers, while the increased frequency range and speed will benefit those performing surface inspections.”
The new instrument leverages all the original key advantages of the platform: powerful eddy current array capabilities and built-in IRIS UT in a compact, light, and rugged casing running on battery power for 100 % up time, even in the worst conditions.
