Corrosion: Prevention and Inspection 2016

In-service corrosion prevention and inspection is a key issue across asset management and asset integrity in the Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power generation and chemical industries.

With this in mind, IMechE Engineering Training Solutions are hosting Corrosion: Prevention and Inspection 2016 at the IMechE Engineering Training Centre in Sheffield on 1 -2 December 2016

The event will be an unmissable two-day technical forum that will look at various ways of corrosion management through NDT and Inspection methods to meet market and industry demands.

Key opinion leaders from the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing, the Institution of Corrosion, EDF and Eddyfi will be presenting. There will also be an exhibition with a practical area for demonstrations as well as networking opportunities for delegates, speakers and vendors.

This event will have significant interest for all those involved in asset management and integrity across industry spectrums.

Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) Training

Inspecting and managing Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) is still a major issue facing asset integrity. In light of this and the unrivalled success of the recently released Lyft system, IMechE Engineering Training Solutions (IMechE ETS) have developed a course with Eddyfi that provides an appreciation for the use of Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) in combating CUI.

Developed in collaboration with Eddyfi the course will provide those attending a level of understanding of PEC and CUI.

Focusing on the Eddyfi Lyft system, the course will also be beneficial to those that have recently or are looking to purchase the equipment as it will look at calibration, its benefits and its limitations.

Attendees will also get the opportunity to gain practical experience on a mixture of heavily corroded and decommissioned pipe as well as dedicated samples.

Those interested in the new course can find out more at the Corrosion: Inspection and Prevention event held at the IMechE Engineering Training Centre in Sheffield on 1 and 2 December.
