The triple threat tool continues to be the undisputed reference for heat exchanger tubing and surface eddy current array testing.

Quebec, Canada, October 31, 2022 – Following the recent launch of Magnifi® software featuring premiere artificial intelligence (AI) tools for eddy current testing (ECT) tubing inspection, Eddyfi Technologies is proud to announce the arrival of Ectane® 3, the most powerful non-destructive testing (NDT) instrument for surface and tubing inspections. The next-generation Ectane 3 supports remote-field array (RFA) technology for advanced carbon steel heat exchanger inspections. Simultaneous with this release comes Magnifi software 5.1 and AI-ECT detection module 2.0.

All suited up for this black-tie affair, Ectane 3 supports a patent pending low-frequency multiplexer to power the RFA probe family even under the harshest field conditions with its IP65 certification.

The new probe family improves performance of inspections with the addition of high-resolution C-scanning and the detection of smaller pits when compared to conventional remote-field testing. The RFA probe design combines a high-density array of coils with conventional bobbin coils featuring dual drivers. The evidence of every detail having been considered is evident with new centering devices located at both probe ends to maintain constant liftoff and provide a higher quality signal response.

The latest Magnifi software version 5.1 integrates dedicated tools for RFA inspections including, but not limited to, a step-by-step setup wizard for probes, dedicated calibration tools to link conventional and C-scan signals, and support of impedance and voltage plane display for ABS channels. Moreover, it includes the AI-ECT module 2.0 for detection of defects under support plates.

"Historically, remote-field testing has been widely used for carbon steel tube inspection for its speed, equal sensitivity to ID and OD flaws and minimum cleaning requirements. However, it has always been a challenge to characterize indications morphology. This is where the power of array for carbon steel tubes is changing the game. With an improved probability of detection and the addition of high-resolution C-scan imaging for better defect morphology analysis, operators can now deliver more accurate assessment leading to proactive decisions." – David Veilleux, Product Manager, Tubing

The prime example of how Eddyfi Technologies remains committed to keeping its stakeholders Beyond Current, Ectane 3 continues to empower users to rise to the challenge of securing a safer world.
